Dreidel: privacy policy

App: Dreidel: Hanukkah Spin Game for Android and iPhone (com.tlldevelopers.dreidel), by TLL Studios (TLL Developers). Last updated: 02/11/2026. Applies to Dreidel 1.0.0 and later.

Summary

Dreidel has no accounts and no server of its own. The player names and house rules you enter stay on your phone. The game uses virtual gelt only: there is no real money, no betting and nothing to win. The free version shows ads (Google AdMob) and the app uses Google Analytics for Firebase and Firebase Crashlytics for aggregated usage statistics and crash reports.

What Dreidel stores

Player names, the number of players, house rules, the sound setting and your Remove ads status are stored only on this device. Names are never sent anywhere. If device backup is on, the system may include them in your personal backup. Uninstalling the app deletes them.

Location and permissions

Dreidel does not ask for your location, contacts, camera, microphone or notifications. It uses the internet for ads, usage statistics, crash reports and purchases. The Hanukkah night shown on the home screen is calculated from your phone’s date.

Ads

The free version shows a Google AdMob banner on the setup screen and an occasional full-screen ad between games. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland we ask for your consent (Google UMP form) before showing ads; you can change it in Settings when the option is shown. Google may use the advertising identifier and approximate location (from the IP address) to serve and measure ads.

Android: you can reset or delete your advertising ID in Android Settings > Google > Ads.

iPhone: before showing ads the app asks for tracking permission (App Tracking Transparency). If you decline, the advertising identifier (IDFA) is not accessed and ads are not personalised. You can change this at any time in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.

The one-time “Remove ads” purchase turns ads off.

Usage statistics and crash reports

We use Google Analytics for Firebase to know, in aggregate, which features are used (for example, how many players start a game or how often the dreidel is spun). Events do not include player names. We use Firebase Crashlytics to receive crash and performance reports (technical trace, device model, system and app version) so that we can fix problems.

Data processed by third-party services

Data sent to these services is encrypted in transit (TLS). This matches the Google Play Data safety section and the App Store privacy practices of the app.

Purchases

The Remove ads purchase is processed by Google Play on Android and by the App Store on iPhone and charged to your Google or Apple account. Dreidel does not receive your payment details; it only learns whether the purchase is valid. Gelt in the game is virtual and cannot be bought, sold or exchanged.

Children

Dreidel is aimed at teenagers and adults (13 and over) and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Dreidel does not ask for any account information.

Your rights and data deletion

The app has no accounts, so there is nothing on our servers to delete. Uninstall the app to remove everything stored on your phone. For data processed by Google (ads, analytics, crash reports) you can use Google’s privacy controls, and for any request you can write to tll.developers.apps@gmail.com.

About the tradition

Dreidel is a game made for fun and shares the Hanukkah tradition with respect. It is not affiliated with any religious or community organisation.
